Started 1st band, a trio -- The Tornados - Me, Ricky Pollock & Jeffrey Evans
Our only gig was playing at my cousin Stuart Miller's birthday party

Joined 1st real band - The Sensations
Me, Gary Barnett, Richard Miller, David Simons, Jimmy Rozen, Bruce (Peanuts) Parkins
Did 1st real gigs
Met Michael Bolotin 1965-1966 while playing guitar on top of my head at party at Jimmy Rozen's house
1966/7
Joined a group called The Zyme
Played gigs & did 1st recording session
Then the real band started -
The core: Me, Bobby Goodman, Gary Barnett & Michael Hillman
Other players included Jeff Coopersmith, Mark Magin
Group names included The Outsiders, The Unexpected & The Coconut Conspiracy
We practiced a lot and played many gigs, and The Coconut Conspiracy went on to become a really hot top 40 band in the area.
1968
Joined George's Boys which later became Joy.
Moved to E. Oakland CA with Joy, after recovering from freaky car accident
Me, Michael Bolotin, Fred Bova, Bob Brockway, Ribs, Denise & Chip
In late 68, we moved back to New Haven from California and rented the Joy House in Woodbridge, CT
1969
Joy House was happening - 18th birthday, etc. etc.
Did 1st major demo session at Syncron Studios in CT
Got record deal with CBS on Epic - The Bop Bah Song / It's For You, etc.
Practiced in Bill Haughwout's dojo loft.
Bought my first vehicle, an ambulance, we named "The Enterprise"
Played gigs - The Electric Circus in NY. & places around New Haven, like The Exit, Yale mixers, etc.
I attended Woodstock. Maybe you saw me there. I was the one wearing jeans and had real long hair.
1970
Dropped from CBS
Opened up Natures Door Restaurant in W. Hollywood, CA, the world's first vegetarian natural foods restaurant to be open 24 hours a day.
1971 & early 1972
Restaurant ended -- Moved to Venice, CA
Got publishing deal - Dimension Music - Michael Gordon & Steven Lewis
Everyone came out from New Haven - Michael Bolotin, Michael Hillman, Fred Bova, Glenn Selwitz, Orrin Bolotin, Tony Corrola & Oogy Ahgy the school bus
We practiced in the bus parked at Helen Bolotin's apt. complex on Coldwater Canyon Blvd.
Recorded album for Pentagram Records
Did sound track for the movie "November's Children"
Played gigs - "Image" in Van Nuys etc.
1972
Music happenings sort of fizzled out, and Joy was now only Michael & Marc
Moved to a commune on Grandview in Topanga Canyon
Played a scene as an extra in the movie "Blume in Love"
Marc & Michael opened up for Leon Russell tour, Denny Cordell of Shelter Records set up. It was 3 concerts, approx 10,000 people a show, very exciting of which I have pictures, a complete audio on CD, and some footage transferred to DVD
1973
Moved back to New Haven & lived with parents on Curtis Dr.
Gave guitar lessons - 1st time
Met Art Kadish and joined the band "Whatever"
1974
Did Tulsa trip with Michael Bolotin to Leon Russell's house for 4 song studio demo
1975 & 1976
In Fallbrook, CA, gave guitar lessons, sold guitars, performed at the Dolphin
1977
Moved from Fallbrook in Fall of 76, to Sonoma County, CA
Played much music with Stu Clark as "It's All Right"
Met Michael Kohl and eventually played in The Russian River All Stars
1981
Started working with "Surge"
Larry & Fairel Corbin - Zack, Mark White, Beth
1982
Went on the road with new Surge, including some original members and Scott VonHeim, Michael Kohl, Steve Sturgis, Ralph Kolaric & others
1983
Surge adventures came to an end on New Years Eve of 1984
1984
Moved to Venice, CA - my future wife Lorilee moved there also
Played in "YOU"
Met Gary Q & Nikki Dean (Deanna) and played in their band RSX.
Became keyboard player for Elliot Kid's band.
1985
Lorilee & I now living in Santa Monica got married in Las Vegas on 4/7.
We started Menage and went on tour with a bass player
Many Stories: Tornado, 1st gig, etc.
1986
Still on U.S. tour with Menage. Then we came back to Santa Monica in March & played various hotels around town.
1987
Changed Menage into a duo & continued to play locally for a few years
Met Bucky & Joyce Batters
Based on Lorilee's great songwriting ability, we tried to sell our original songs by soliciting publishing companies and other leads furnished by various industry media. We did get some songs published, but stopped pursuing it.
1993
Bought 1st pedal steel guitar in August
Played with a band for 1st time with the pedal steel guitar in September!
1994/95
Started giving guitar lessons again
Gigged with Gary Hoffman & his band Bounty Hunter, the Julie Taylor Band, Goin' South and others.
Began performing for 1st time at nursing homes, retirement centers, etc.
1996
Nashville trip with Spaghetti Western
1997
Playing gigs and recording with Fit 2- B Tied, Leather & Lace and other bands
1998
Coconut Conspiracy Reunion in August
We buy a house and move to Vallejo, CA in December.
1999
Got connected with a country artist doing original material, "Dustin James"
Also doing bar gigs with Medicine Man, Western Justice and 90 Proof
The very magical "Savin Rock" reunion band forms with me, Lorilee, Hilly, Gary, & Glenn ---Unbelievable!!!
2001
50th Birthday Festival - Totally Unbelievably Great -- Best possible tribute & party ever -- see video, CD, memorabilia poster boards, etc.
Many summer festival gigs with Rosemarie & the Rhythm Riders
Still gigging with Fairel Corbin, Tucker McMullen, and Rod, who eventually gets replaced by Mark White, in Medicine Man.
Join "Longhorn" original country group with Larry Tolentino, Lenny Landry,
Josh Bishop, and Scott Von Heim.
2002
Still doing many fun music projects, most of the old ones, and some new.
Lenny Landry of Longhorn dies
Again, played many summer event gigs with Rosemarie & the Rhythm Riders
Joined The Dave Russell Band, with John Hall, Steve Lussi, & Steve Payne, and performed at big fun country event gigs at rodeos, fairs, etc.
2003
All music projects still going strong, and adding more nursing homes to perform at also.
After not hearing from him since 1974, Fred Bova comes up from S. CA for a nice visit in April, which helps to finalize the reunion events.
Made Xmas music CD called "Steelin' the Holidays" & gave out to many friends & relatives
